Contents:

The course provides an overview of the relationships between human beings and their man-made and natural environments. The course takes a global perspective, addressing subjects such as cultural globalization, population dynamics, nature and society, economic development and urbanization. In addition, students will further their understanding via the study of different perspectives in human geographic theory.

Learning outcomes:

After this course students will be able to:
- understand the complex relationship between people and environment;
- comprehend landscape transformations and more specifically the use and management of nature and forest resources;
- understand different human geographical concepts and approaches and the way they represent the relationships between spatial patterns and structures and the spatial behavior of businesses, households and institutions in the sphere of living, work and leisure.
