Contents:

A series of lectures combined with literature study. This module represents an introduction to the history of Western visual arts and culture, and to the relevance these have upon the pattern of contemporary culture. It also constitutes an introduction to European garden art and landscape design.

Aims:

To provide a basic understanding of the history of art, culture, architecture, garden art and landscape design, outlining the influence of each on the current debate within landscape architecture.

Activities:

Lectures and literature study.
