Basic Knowledge of Human Biology, Human Physiology and Biochemistry, HNE-35206 Human Pathology

Contents:

- basic knowledge of etiology, pathology, pathophysiology, diagnosis and therapy of public health relevant diseases;
- getting acquainted with work practices in the medical field and medical terminology;
- collection of information for medical problem solving from diverse sources.

Aims:

After the course the student will be able to:
- describe etiology, patho(physio)logy, diagnosis and therapy of public health relevant diseases and to see relations between different clinical pictures;
- explain how the medical doctor arrives at diagnosis and therapy, by means of clinical investigations;
- communicate effectively with physicians and other health care personnel;
- collect relevant medical and other information necessary for medical problem solving.

Activities:

The student will;
- follow the introductory lectures;
- take part actively in the discussion lectures;
- participate actively in groupwork concerning medical problem cases;
- perform self study according to aims defined in the group work.
