Contents:

The following topics will be introduced or updated briefly (but in more detail than the BSc course):
- the role of ICT within a business, organisation or supply chain;
- information and knowledge systems for business operations, management and control.
In this advanced course the following topics will also be covered:
- several modelling paradigms with their generic elements;
- planning, building and maintaining Information systems;
- principles of information management and control;
- the infrastructure and architectural requirements involved in this context.

Aims:

The student will learn and practise in this course several methods and techniques to analyse and document information flows in a business, organisation or supply chain. Following the analysis, several processes may be modified or redesigned. A generic analytical modelling approach will be explained and practised. The student will design and implement an efficient and flexible information system with the use of UML (Unified Modelling Language).

Activities:

The course consists of lectures, reading literature, practical work, individual assignments and working in small groups on case studies.

Examination:

Cases and individual assignments will be graded. A written or oral examination will conclude this course.
