Agricultural and Bioresource Engineering (MBE) / MSc

Aims

The objective of the programme is an academic training in the field of Agricultural and Bioresource Engineering. The programme is focussed on the development of technology for a) the production of food and other agricultural products b) the green space with an emphasis on innovation. The students will learn:
- how to do research autonomously (problem identification, formulating research questions, execution of the research, reviewing results and both oral and written reporting);
- how to train autonomously in the area of agricultural and bioresource engineering - how to interact with others (colleagues, other professionals, users, society);
- management skills;
- to be innovative and to manage innovations. The study programme is an individually tailor made thesis oriented programme, based on the specific interests of the student, the present competences and the final competences of the programme. The main part of the programme is the major. Majors can be done in several fields of agricultural engineering (soil technology, greenhouse technology, livestock technology, field crop technology), measurement and control (simulation, process control, robotics, system identification), information technology (databases, simulation, software engineering, information systems) and environmental engineering (biological recycling technology). Other compulsory parts of the programme are an (academic oriented) internship, the major preparation, an academic master block and a technology and innovation oriented course.
