Assumed knowledge on:
Students are recommended to have successfully completed at least one of the following courses: ENR-31306 Economics and Management of Natural Resources; YSS-35306 Theories and Models in Economics; AEP-32306 Cost-Benefit Analysis and Environmental Valuation; ENP-32306 Advanced Environmental Economics and Policy.
Contents:
This advanced course focuses on studying, critically reviewing, and discussing scientific articles or chapters from books on a specific topic in environmental and natural resource economics. The articles or chapters will be selected from international, peer-reviewed journals or books and will be studied and analysed by the students. Each student will write a critical review on a set of papers on a certain topic and will, based on this, construct a synthesis on the topic at hand.
Learning outcomes:
After successful completion of this course student are expected to be able to:
- construct a synthesis on a specific topic and/or methodologies from state of the art scientific literature within the field of environmental and natural resource economics.
Activities:
- study articles from peer-reviewed scientific journals and book chapters from handbooks and other advanced readings;
- write a paper on a topic to be discussed with the course lecturer;
- discuss literature with the course lecturer and, in case of multiple students, other students.
Examination:
Individual paper.
