Introduction to essential basics of statistical theory and initiation with SPSS, to prepare students for YSS-20306 Quantitative and Qualitative Research Techniques.

Learning outcomes:

After successful completion of this course students are expected to be able to:
- identify types of variables;
- formulate hypotheses related to correlation and comparing means;
- consider issues of reliability, validity, power, error and assumptions;
- assess data using graphs and basic mathematical models.

Activities:

Lectures and in-class practical assignments.

Written closed-book exam.
