In this course the student will acquire basic insight into moral and ethical reasoning (deontological, communicative, utilitarian and virtue ethics) and will learn how to apply this by way of using a three stage scheme for moral reasoning and discussing a concrete ethical problem that the student meets or can meet as a professional.
Learning outcomes:
After successful completion of this course students are expected to be able to:
- recognise basic forms of moral reasoning;
- discuss and tentatively solve ethical problems;
- explain and justify why certain solutions are to be preferred.
Activities:
Lectures combined with practical exercises.
Examination:
Students write an individual paper.
Literature:
Literature will be supplied at beginning of the course.
