Contents:

This is an advanced course which is part of the Research Master Variant in the MSc program's MID and MME.
It provides an overview of different theories for analysing various aspects of the organisation of the agribusiness:
- contracts and governance;
- organisational competences and innovation;
- market structure and competition;
- performance.

Learning outcomes:

- give a critical reflection on different theoretical frameworks for analysing the organisation of the agribusiness;
- select an appropriate theoretical framework for the analysis of different organisational aspects in the agribusiness;
- apply the concepts into their own research.

Activities:

There will be three major activities in this course:
- lectures in which the main theoretical frameworks for analysing the organisation of the agribusiness are presented;
- groups of 3 students write a short paper on a selected topic. The paper applies at least two theoretical frameworks to the selected topic. The paper is presented in the final lecture.

Examination:

The grade is based on a written exam (70%), the grade for the paper and its defence in the last lecture (20%) the review (10%).
