Soil and Water 1 (SFI-10806).

Contents:

This course consists of two parts of both 2 credits: Soil and Water. It is a continuation of Soil and Water 1 (SFI-10806). In this course the focus is more on 'processes' whereas in Soil and Water 1 the focus was 'System description'. Main subject is an introduction to physical, chemical and biological processes in soil, groundwater and surface waters. Furthermore management aspects of soil and water are dealt with.

Aims:

- elaborate the knowledge of soil properties, the role of (ground)water and water management and interactions of soil and water;
- acquire knowledge in the field of soil- and water processes.

Activities:

- prepare and follow lecture;
- practice exercises (in lectures and on the websites;
- some practical experiments on soil chemistry.

Examination:

Individual written exam in two separate parts (soil and water).
