Contents:
The Seminar Course assists students of social sciences study programmes in preparing and guiding through the first phase of their master and consists of:
- a basic block of 3 workshops focusing on a number of scientific skills such as: understanding, structuring and summarizing scientific knowledge and reviewing scientific articles. Students will learn to analyse, judge and manage scientific knowledge efficiently and effectively;
- attendance of participation in a reflection on a number of colloquia, which is a must to experience the practice of scientific research and formulate ideas for future involvement in 'the scientific discourse';
- analysing thesis research proposals and presenting your own thesis research proposal.
Learning outcomes:
After successful completion of the Seminar course students of social sciences study programmes are expected to be able to:
- search and analyse scientific literature efficiently and effectively
- analyse, review and present master thesis research proposals
- review scientific papers and
- reflect on research colloquia.
Examination:
In order to pass the course you have to have attended all workshops in the 'basic block', passed for all assignments, presented your own thesis proposal & results and been a co referent for fellow students.
