Contents:

This course is the continuation of FTE-12303 Introduction Biosystems Engineering part 1. See the description of that course for the contents. This second part of the course consists of the remaining three relevant topics (welfare and environment, climate control, and (agro)production chains and logistics), the module oral presenting, and the preparation of the technical paper.

Learning outcomes:

After successful completion of this course students are expected to be:
- acquainted with the domain biosystems engineering;
- aware of the importance of the (agro)production chain;
- acquainted with the technology and technological issues in biosystems engineering: environment and welfare, climate control, and production chains and logistics;
- able to do a literature research, read literature, structure the information found and identify the important issues, and write a short technical paper;
- able to give a good presentation on a topic relevant for the domain.

Examination:

The examination consists of six parts:
- written exam (50%);
- assignments (20%);
- information literacy test (pass (mark at least 5.50) required);
- information literacy assignment (pass (mark at least 5.50) required);
- presenting: active participation and reflection report (pass (mark at least 5.50) required);
- technical paper (30%; marks bust be at least 5.50)

A reader with course information and relevant literature is available at the beginning of the course.
