Contents:

In this course students are introduced to the domain of international land and water management. The specific focus of the BIL-program on the domain will be explained. Students will discuss their expectations and enhance their competencies to communicate in an international learning environment.

Learning outcomes:

At the end of the course students should (be able to):
- explain what the study of international land and water management entails;
- explain why they consider international land and water management an important and interesting study;
- explain the relevance of the study-program in relation to the domain;
- understand the relevance of the different courses in realising the learning outcomes of the study program;
- verbally articulate their views in a clear and culturally sensitive manner.

Activities:

Group work, self-study and practical.

Examination:

Students will get a pass ('voldoende testimonium') if they participate actively in the course, satisfactorily carry out the exam and have shown to be able to reflect on their oral presentation skills.

Literature:

Reading material will be distributed at the start of and during the course.
