Courses BSc Programme Plant Sciences

Contents:

The BSc-programme Plant Sciences is completed by two elements, the Essay Plant Sciences and the Project Proposal Plant Sciences. These elements can only be taken after permission of the study supervisor.
The Essay Plant Sciences is a written report on a current topic in the field of Plant Sciences based on individual literature search and literature study. The essay should deal with scientific and technical/ applied aspects of the topic, and knowledge from different disciplines should be integrated. The topic should be related to the student's specialisation within the BSc programme Plant Sciences and will be determined in consultation with the essay supervisor (a scientific staff member of one of the Plant Sciences chair groups). Appointments on choice of topic, planning and supervision will be written down in the essay contract, which is part of the study guide.

Aims:

The Essay Plant Sciences is a concluding element of the BSc Plant Sciences. After completion the student is able to:
- survey, apply and integrate relevant knowledge regarding a current topic in the field of Plant Sciences;
- perform literature search and literature study;
- plan various activities within the assignment;
- write an essay.

Activities:

Individual planning and writing of a written report based on independently performed literature search.

Examination:

The Essay Plant Sciences is evaluated and marked by the supervisor according to an evaluation protocol that is described in the study guide.
