Nutrition and Health (MNH) / MSc
MSc Common part
Common Part
For all specialisations, students should have successfully completed the RO0 courses and mandatory prerequisites before they can start with their first thesis or internship. This common part is not applicable for specialisation E
Choose 1 cluster from RO1A, RO1B or RO1C; take into account:
- RO1B can only be selected by those students that meet the professional competencies from RO1A based on prior education and/or professional career, to be decided by the MNH-programme-team. For RO1B the options for MOS-courses are limited to those that include reflective learning. When choosing RO1B an additional MSc-level course has to be added to reach the total of 120 credits.
- RO1A and RO1B: YMC-60300 is an umbrella code. Instead, choose and register for 3 credits worth of modular skills (MOS) courses. For an overview of possible MOS courses please see under YMC-60300 in the study handbook. Alternatively, students can take 6 credits worth of MOS courses. As an alternative to YMC-60300, students can select the course CPT-38803 Ethics of Food and Nutrition.
- RO1C: YEI-60312 has specific prerequisites, take those into account.
In consultation with the study adviser, students either choose an internship from RO2 or a second thesis.
Such a second thesis should be at least 24 credits and selected from one of the chairgroups HNE, HAP, TOX, CPT or CBI.
In general students with a professional Bachelor degree should opt for a second thesis. Students with an academic Bachelor degree should opt for an internship from RO2.
In individual cases, based on the content of thesis research and in consultation with the study adviser and approval of the examening board, another chairgroup can offer the specialisation-specific thesis.
The FQD internship is linked to specialisation D only.
