Common Part

For all specialisations, students should have succesfully completed the RO-0 courses and mandatory prerequisites before they can start with their first thesis or internship. The common part is NOT applicable for students choosing specialisation D Sensory Science!
Choose one cluster from RO1A, RO1B or RO1C. - RO1A is a part of the educational variant (only open to Dutch students). - In RO1B YMC60303 can be replaced by YMC60306, in consultation with the study adviser. - RO1C can only be selected by those students that meet the professional competencies from RO1B based on prior education and/or professional career, to be decided by the MSc-programme-team. For RO1C the options for MOS-modules are limited to those that include reflective learning. In RO1C an additional MSc-level course has to be added to reach the total of 120 ECTS-credits.
In consultation with the study adviser, students either choose an internship from RO2 or a second thesis. Such a second thesis should be at least 24 credits and selected from one of the chairgroups HNE, HAP, TOX, COM or CBI. In general students with a professional Bachelor degree should opt for a second thesis. Students with an academic Bachelor degree should opt for an internship from RO2. In individual cases, based on the content of thesis research and in consultation with the study adviser, another chairgroup can offer the specialisation-specific thesis. As an alternative for RO2, ECS-70424 can be chosen as part of the educational variant (only open to Dutch students).

A - Epidemiology and Public Health

Limited choice:

Select all of the courses from RO0 that lack in your prior education in consultation with your study adviser
Choose at least 2 courses from RO1; take into account the thesis prerequisites
Choose at least 1 course from RO2
Choose 1 thesis from RO3
Choose HNE38802 from RO4 when doing an epidemiological thesis in Wageningen
Please note: HNE31006 will be taught in academic year 2011/2012 for the first time

B - Nutritional Physiology and Health Status

Limited choice:

Select all of the courses from RO0 that lack in your prior education in consultation with your study adviser
Choose at least 2 courses from RO1. Take into account the thesis prerequisites
Choose at least 1 course from RO2
Choose 1 thesis from RO3

C - Molecular Nutrition and Toxicology

Limited choice:

Select all of the courses from RO0 that lack in your prior education in consultation with your study adviser
Choose at least 1 course from RO1. Take into account the thesis prerequisites
Choose at least 1 course (related to Nutrition and Health) from RO2
Depending on prior education and thesis, choose up to 2 courses from RO3 in consultation with your study adviser. Please note, some of the courses mentioned in RO3 are taught in Dutch only.

D - Sensory Science

Choose either one thesis and one internship from RO1 or one thesis and one internship from RO2
Please note: XCU-courses are taught by Copenhagen University in Copenhagen, Denmark. Students enrolled in this specialisation/Double degree programme require admission from Copenhagen University. This is handled by the MNH-programme team.
