BSc Minor Regional Development and Planning (WURDP) / BSc

Introduction

Spatial and regional planning is a topical issue. Many policy decisions contain a spatial or regional aspect. This is true for the decision making processes in developed countries and in developing countries as well. In regional planning the collection of reliable spatial data is an important issue.
Therefore this BSc minor starts with the course Spatial Data Infrastructure (GRS-21306), which is based on a problem-based learning environment. This subject is followed by a general introduction to regional and spatial economics (ECH-21306). Historical issues are covered by the course 'Historical Geography' (SAL-22306), which focuses on the interdisciplinary study of cultural landscapes.
The BSc minor is concluded in by a course in regional strategic planning (LUP-33306), which is a practical course focusing at methods and techniques to support strategic planning processes at the regional level.
