Language of instruction:

Contents:

This course treats the quantitative description of the different transport mechanisms for mass, momentum and energy and the corresponding conservation laws in a systematic manner in order to describe velocity, temperature and concentration profiles in process equipment as a function of time and position.

Learning outcomes:

At the end of this course, the student is able to:
- analyze systems in terms of transfer processes and quantify and compare transport resistances;
- set up and combine appropriate mass, momentum and energy (steady/unsteady and differential/integral) balances;
- describe and design process equipment (for physical processes).

Activities:

Limited number of lectures (C) and frequent opperunities for guided exercieses.

Examination:

Written exam.

Literature:

Not available.
