BFS-21306 Organic Agriculture and Society

Contents:

Judicious management of resources for sustainable organic agriculture involving different stakeholders, institutional environments and agro-ecological regions of the world by dealing with ecological processes, social impact, conservation of landscape/nature and animal/human health and welfare.

Learning outcomes:

Students are expected to be able to:
- describe and interpret management of natural resources at organic farm and regional scales;
- illustrate how changes in farming goals and conditions affect natural resources (management);
- propose options for Integrated Natural Resource Management when combining different (organic) production functions.

Activities:

Lectures, practicals, excursion, individual project.

Examination:

Exam (50%), performance at PE and EE (25%), IP (25%), all to be completed with mark equal to or higher than 5.5.
