Contents:

Attending lectures is compulsory
Introduction into public administration and environmental law in a Dutch and European context. Subjects:
- principles of Dutch and European government and institutional law;
- principles of (new) public management and governance approaches;
- Dutch and European environmental law and policy (particularly the territorial dimension;
- parallel projects on spatial planning and on forest and nature conservation.

Learning outcomes:

After the course, students are able to:
- understand the principles of Dutch and European government and institutional law;
- recall the main laws and regulations in Dutch and European environmental law;
- analyze concrete examples and solve specific problems in these fields;
- linking theoretical developments in public management and governance to environmental and rural area policy.

Activities:

Lectures, workshops, parallel projects.

Examination:

Written exam, project report.
