Contents:

The course offers fundamentals for drawing language and techniques, to be applied in the related design studio 2: drawing from observation and from memory, emphasizing basic linear codification, formal elements, plane texture and color articulation.
Software courses in Vector and Raster software (e.g.AutoCAD, Photoshop), for design delineation and basic visualization, to be applied mainly in the following design studios. Basic exercises to summarize an adequate selection of design research and results in attractive and clarifying presentation posters;

Learning outcomes:

After this course students will have the knowledge, tools and skills to:
- apply basic drawing techniques: design sketches in different levels of scale and detail, in plans, cross sections and schematic illustrations;
- apply CAD software for 2D vector drawing and raster software (AutoCAD, Illustrator, Photoshop, e.g.) for various finishing techniques;
- present design proposals in both attractive and clarifying posters.

- supervised lessons in freehand drawing, layout and colour;
- instructed and assisted software tutorial exercises.
