Contents:

The topic of this course deals with design tools that can be applied for simulation of processes in the area of environmental technology and for the development of technological solutions for environmental problems. The course focuses on the basic aspects of these tools and the way to use these tools in simulation models of processes and process chains and in flow sheeting. Also practical and theoretical calculations with these tools and assessment of the results of these calculations are part of this course.

Learning outcomes:

After this course, students are able to:
- make an analysis of chemical problems with the OLI Analyzer software;
- make flow sheet calculations with the OLI ESP and BIOWIN software;
- integrate this software in solving complex problems related to reactor and separation processes design.

Activities:

Study theory about design tools and practice.

Examination:

Based on reports and oral presentation.
