Profile

Key components of the interactions between society and nature are central in this BSc minor. Environmental law, policy and governance public administration and communication, but also the interactions of people (individually or organized) with their natural environment are discussed.
The BSc minor is also a good preparation for the MSc Forest and Nature Conservation for students with various backgrounds. This BSc minor is a programme minor.

Learning Outcomes

After successful completion of this minor students are expected to be able to:
- explain the functioning of natural areas as social systems at different temporal and spatial scales;
- compare the different actors and institutions related to natural areas;
- understand the concept of governance and explain practices of forest, nature and biodiversity governance from local to international scale;
- analyse the key components of social systems in relation to natural areas.
