This course is meant for those students who want to finalise the BSc minor Innovation and Entrepreneurship (WUINE) or Bachelor students who have participated in extra-curricular programs provided by StartHub.
Other courses as part of the MSc Track Entrepreneurship.
This so-called capstone course is specifically developed for BSc students who started following entrepreneurship education at Wageningen University and who want to have their entrepreneurial efforts accredited and acknowledged. In the course students further develop, practice and demonstrate their entrepreneurial skills in an authentic project context. The starting point for this course are real-life valorisation cases commissioned by Wageningen University & Research. In the course students work in teams on these valorisation cases: you will connect cutting-edge research output to entrepreneurial opportunities and real (potential) customers and users. In order to do so, you will be coached by business developers, experienced entrepreneurs and technology transfer officers.
After successful completion of this course students are expected to be able to:
- explain the importance of entrepreneurship for knowledge valorisation;
- identify the practical steps from idea to initial customer validation;
- apply entrepreneurial steps from theory to concrete valorisation projects;
- identify the strengths and weaknesses of their own project execution;
- compare and own projects with peer projects;
- evaluate own and other's entrepreneurial projects considering the process as well as the end product.
In masterclasses, practice-based models in the field of customer development, revenue models and qualitative research methods (e.g. customer interviews) are being discussed and applied by students in their entrepreneurial projects in the different phases that characterise such projects. In guest lectures/excursions specific valorisation themes (e.g. IP) are discussed in relation to the projects the students represent. In the final discussion session, the students evaluate and discuss (i.e. evaluate) their own and each other's projects from an entrepreneurship point of view. This evaluation is also laid down in a short individual paper which is graded.

Each component needs a minimum mark of 5.50 to pass.
Prerequisites are active participation in class and active contribution to the learning process of fellow students.
