Contents:

This is an introductory course. The focus is on the basic concepts such as facility, facilty management, service level agreement, facility procurement, facility components, classification of facility costs, facility performance indicators and quality of service. Specific themes of Wageningen University such as sustainability and health are part of the case-study. An extended case-study with a client is part of this course. Students work in teams and present their case at the end of the course to the client and examinar.

Aims:

Students learn about facility management as an innovative management tool for corporate managment to govern facility activities. They get a grip on the basic concepts and learn to use these when analyzing a practical case. Students learn to present and defend the results of their case-study.

Activities:

Class, self study, teamwork, communication, problem solving and debate.

Examination:

Written examination and presentation in word and writting of results of case-study.
