Contents:

Insect-plant interactions cover the two largest taxa of terrestrial organisms. The focus is on plant chemistry and insect behaviour. Ecological and evolutionary aspects are also addressed.

Aims:

Achieving knowledge of and insight in: molecular and physiological interactions; translation of a biological question into an experimental approach; attaining experimental skills; analysis, interpretation of results.

Activities:

(1) Working sessions on book chapters and primary literature; (2) Mini-research project (3) oral presentation (4) writing of report in the format of a short scientific publication.

Examination:

Written examination on the contents of the book (essay questions); evaluation of report and presentation.
